Michigan Hat

This was my first attempt at knitting in the round with circs and DPNs. It got a little hairy at the top decreases. I lost about an hour due to a dropped stitch after switching to DPNs. I couldn't figure out how to recover the stitch with a crochet hook because of the K2togs, so I had to rip it back. I made the stripes wider than called for to give it a little more Michigan color.

This will be for Zack, Brad's half-brother, for Christmas.

Completed August 28, 2004

10.5 hours of knitting

The hat really had turned out too short. I ended up ripping out the top and modifying the pattern by adding knit rows in between the decrease rows. The end result is much better.
