Hawaiian Quilt Cross-stitch pillows

When I asked my sister what she wanted for her birthday in March, she said she wanted pillows to match her blue and white Hawaiian print slipcovers on her sofas. I saw it as the perfect opportunity to use these cute Hawaiian Quilt cross-stitch patterns I had picked up in a little shop in Kauai. I picked three DMC colors to compliment fabric I bought, and stitched a grid of 9 blocks for each pillow. It was more time intensive than I had thought it would be, but I loved the way they turned out.

I finished the pillows by piecing blue fabric around the face, then backing it with more blue fabric.
