I managed to make it to the yarn store yesterday before 5:30 to pick up some sock yarn for Miyon, and some Filatura di Crosa 501 in 101 and 102 for a hat for me. I cast on last night for the Double Knit Along. I’m knitting this snowflake hat, just instead of fair isle, I’m doing it with double knitting. Here’s what I have so far:

It’s a little tedious to start, but I feel like I’m getting in the rhythm now. I’m looking forward to starting to do some patterning. I’m not sure how I’m doing on gauge yet, though… I guess we’ll see! I couldn’t figure out a good way to swatch ahead of time that didn’t seem more trouble than it was worth.
