I had a lot of fun knitting these socks. David was a great recipient – either he’s a fabulous actor, or he was genuinely interested in the knitting process and super excited about the finished product. He didn’t even flinch when Miyon and I made him do the photo shoot for his socks in public. This is why my Christmas knitting list is almost non-existent this year – I want to save my efforts for people that truly appreciate it. Not that previous recipients haven’t appreciated what they have gotten, but I think a huge part of it is either involving the recipient in the selection process (David got exactly what he wanted, even though he wanted black yarn), or knowing the recipient so well that you pick something they would have picked for themselves (like the scarf my sister knit for me). Anyway, I had a lot of fun knitting these socks – just the perfect amount of mindless/interesting for the subway, knitting while talking to others, etc. I kind of miss working on them, since my Hippy Crunchy socks are requiring more brain power than I necessarily have left these days when I leave work. I have some cranberry LL on the way – I’m going to make a pair for myself, I think.

The socks looks great!
Now THAT’S a ton of work you’ve done! You are quite the accomplished knitter. Keep in touch.
I love them. And I’ve learned something about myself, finally. When I first started knitting, I knew I preferred solid yarn. Then I got all peer-pressured into thinking it HAD to be variegated. I’ve finally matured enough to ignore peer pressure and acknowledge what it is that I really, truly prefer — and that is solid or tweedy yarn. Full stop. I guess it’s time I matured. I’m 47 years old.
Those socks be fly dawg. Awesome color selection and the pattern is way sweet. Perfection!
Very nice! I’ll have to add that pattern to my “to do” list
Don’t you love recipients who are eager to receive? It really makes the knitting worthwhile. (I, of course, love to receive my own knitting, so I’m pretty sure that counts… lol)
Now these are some socks I think my husband would wear! They’re beautiful.
