Anything worth doing is worth doing right

So they say.

yarn barf

new start

I was totally going to be jealous of Stariel’s “Learn from Kris’s mistakes” Hippy Crunchy socks, so I decided I should make sure I have an end product that I’ll be happy with. Kind of depressing to have that ball after 14.25 hours of knitting so far. Oh well. I’m debating if this one is coming with me to San Diego, or if it will be on time out for a bit. Clearly, they are no longer my August socks.

These are my August socks:

second start

With two plane rides, I’m not too worried about getting these done by August 31st. In fact, I’m considering bringing Peacock Feathers for some plane knitting as well in case the sock starts boring me to tears (plus I haven’t touched Peackock Feathers in a pathetically long time, and I miss it).

  • Yay! I started the heel flap on my Cedar Creek socks last night (finally!) so you’re still way ahead. ;)

  • Bummer – but totally agree about the “worth doing it right” bit.

  • So are you going to be available for any group knitting while you’re in San Diego? I still need to give you back your 0000 needles (oh the shame! I’m a bad borrower.) and it’d be great to see you. Have a safe flight!

  • Naughty socks. That yarn should go on hiatus!!Have a nice trip.

Thanks for having the courage to frog the Hippy Crunchy socks, you just convinced me to do the same. The first sock has been sitting on my needles forever; I hate the pattern, I don’t understand the heel and I am sure I will screw it up. So why force myself to finish something I am not enjoying? Thank you Kris, you made my day. I am going to frog the whole thing and choose a pattern I like instead. Love the yarn, love the colours. I think I just am too much of a conformist and way too stubborn for my own good. Walk on the wild side….
