My socks aren’t rockin’

I was making pretty good progress:

too big

But they’re too big. Turns out I should have read the pattern, rather than grabbing the needles I always use for STR lightweight (Addi US 1, so really 1.5) – the mesh pattern needs a smaller needle. So I grabbed the suggested needle size, US 0 (dumb, since I’m a tight knitter):

too small

Yeah, no go. Too small, and at this point the yarn was looking pretty mangled. So I ripped it out and started from the other end:

just right

These are on Inox US 1. I’m having serious issues moving stitches along the join, though, so I just moved the sock to Susan Bates US 1s. I have Brittany Birch needles in a US 1 too, but I can totally see myself snapping them trying to do the sssk or K3tog. Hopefully I can pick up speed on these – I want to finish these in August, and it’s not looking too good so far.
