Turkey!

Those clever marketing people at Clover – do you think the $50 pink chibi on ebay clued them in to the potential of those cute little needle cases? Now I have to look out for the clear green one. :P

I got a lot of knitting done yesterday – I started my second sleeve of Grace on the way to the airport and for part of the flight, and switched to the Faroese Shawlet. I’m sad to say that it turns out that the Faroese Shawlet has only three rows of patterning (feather and fan) – the rest of it is garter stitch. Just a teensy bit boring – I’m down to 170 stitches, but I imagine it will get a little better when the rows are shorter.

Once in Seattle (weather: cold and wet – I’m shocked, shocked, I tell you) we settled into the hotel, then ate dinner, and then a couple of us went to a bowling alley that just opened. I’m hoping that the rental shoes I managed to get my feet into were barely worn (they were clearly quite new). I have my own shoes at home despite barely bowling -really because my feet are narrow and I don’t fit the rentals, like my father, but I’m not really a fan of the communal shoe. Anyway, I bowled a 1 in the first frame, and then followed that up with my first turkey ever (three strikes in a row). The guys were accusing me of all sorts of trickery, which considering we weren’t betting on the game… anyway, I ended up winning with a 145, which beat my previous high score by 30. I think the trick was the fact that I was knitting rows on my sock in between turns. :)

Off to training!
